Meewerken

Wie graag wil meewerken aan alles wat op een plek als deze voortdurend gedaan moet worden, is meer dan welkom en kan gratis verblijven inclusief de maaltijden. Afhankelijk van het seizoen wordt er gesnoeid, worden bomen omgezaagd, tot brandhout gehakt, terrassen schoongemaakt en afval verbrand.

Verder wacht bijvoorbeeld een serieuze groentetuin op het juiste moment om eindelijk aangelegd te worden, moet er nodig een opslagplaats voor het brandhout worden gebouwd en zouden we originele terrasmuurtjes graag herstellen. Ook dromen we van schaduwrijke plekken om met groepen samen uit de zon te zitten en van nog een hoop meer.

Dus wie geniet van werken in de rust en pracht van een explosief natuurgebied, overleg met ons wat je kunt, waar je zin in hebt of welk werk er op een bepaald moment wacht. Zoals gezegd: je krijgt gratis kost en inwoning, in ruil voor zes uur werk op een dag.

Travailler chez nous

Tous ceux qui veulent participer au travail qu’un tel endroit nécessite en permanence, sont invités à passer un séjour gratuit, repas inclus. En fonction de la saison, ce travail consiste à élaguer, à couper les arbres en bûches, à nettoyer les terrasses et à brûler les feuilles mortes et les autres déchets.

A part ça, nous attendons le moment de élargir notre propre jardin potager, nous comptons construire un dépôt pour les bûches de bois et nous aimerions restaurer les murs de terrasse dans leur état original. Nous rêvons aussi d’endroits ombragés pour pouvoir passer des moments en groupe en dehors du soleil.

Working with us

Who wants to come work with us as a volunteer is more than welcome. You will receive free stay and meals( drinks included) against 6 hours of work a day.
In a place like ours with an area of land of 14 hectares there is always a lot of work and maintenance. Depending on the season we do a lot of pruning, cutting trees and bushes, cutting firewood and burning vegetal waste. An ongoing task is the cleaning up of the terraces against the mountain slope that gradually find back their glory of more than a century ago. This work is specially reserved for the winter-season ( from november till the end of may).

In the summer it usually is too hot and the vegetation is too rich. For this work you don’t have to be experienced. Over the years we have the experience that especially women love this work, particularly doing the fires. Summarizing you could say that we are engaged in a big job of landscaping. Specialists in this field are very welcome.

The extension of our vegetable garden is also a project for the near future.
Besides the above we still have building and construction work. Though the main building has been done, we still have projects to come like creating a wooden floor for our yourt with a diameter of 6 meters and building a workshop annex dry storage and firewood-shed. Finally there is always the maintenance in every imaginable sense, for instance of our water-system. We’re very proud to have an independent water-system, fed by a real source that springs high on the mountain from underneath a granite rock-formation.
